About this course
Would you like to learn to weave beautiful traditional baskets in your own home? In this course Amanda Rayner will introduce you to many of the different weaving methods you’ll need to become an accomplished basket maker. As your course project, you'll make a lovely English shopping basket, and along the way you'll gain the knowledge and confidence to make bigger and more intricate pieces. This is a fantastic introductory course for an enthusiastic beginner. The shopping basket is a classic piece that you can use every day and it also makes an excellent present.
Meet Your New Teacher
This course has been specially designed by leading willow artist and basketmaker Amanda Rayner. Amanda weaves sculptures, installations, garden furniture and all manner of baskets from her workshop in south Wales. She has over 20 years of teaching experience and is extremely passionate about the healing power of weaving - and passing this ancient art on to the next generation.

What do you need?
You will need to order about 130 sticks of willow. You will also need a pair of secateurs, that's it!
